Ays- 'Misery'

Credits

  • The credits are red which could represent blood, death or murder.
  • The title is on it's own with a black background showing the impotance of it where as the rest of the credits go over the film its self.
  • Dark and short music plays when the title comes up with a loud harsh sound when it finally sits giving it a scary feeling sending a chill down your spine.
  • Going into the opening there is a typewritter sound leading into the opening.

Camera Work

  • Close up of alcohol, glass and cigarettes, showing sophistication and possibly wealth and a certain life style.
  • Extreme close up of the typewritter in use and then the character writtin 'THE END' at the bottom, shows us he has written some sort of novel.
  • Extreme long shot shows the trees and roads covered in snow, showing he lives in a cold deserted place as there are no houses near.
  • Close up of the characters face showing a sense of achievement and satisfaction.
  • Close up of the wheels of his car sliding showing it's dangerous to drive that fast in the snow and his car can't handle it.
  • Medium long shot of the snow that has hit the tree, shows he has a good shot and where it landed.

Character

  • Clever and determined as he wrote a book of his own and on a typewritter.
  • Old as he says 'Still got it' when he throws the snow at the tree.
  • Also from that maybe he was good at something when he was younger, makes you wounder what he's like as a person.
  • Daredevil as he has just drunk some alcohol and then goes driving at a fast speed on extremely snowy roads which could be very dangerous.

Sound

  • Gentle piano music plays whilst he is finishing his book, seems calm and soothing.
  • Whilst he is driving the music is fun and up beat as if it is something he is listening on the radio.
  • Suddenly cuts off when he loses control and crashes his car.
