Ays- 'Vertigo'



Credits
  • Spiral in the middle of the screen changes colour,pattern and size, seems hypnotising, captures viewers attention.

  • Music starts straight away.

  • It's loud and busy then changes to a lighter sound with the occasional cresendo.

  • The spiral goes small into the middle of an eye.

  • The writting is small and white mainly at the side of the screen so that the spiral is still emphasized.


Camera Work

  • Extreme Close up of an eye, makes you wonder who's it is.

  • Blurry dark shot then hands suddenyl grab a pole making it go into focus and makes you jump by the sudden movement.

  • Medium Long shot of the men jumping on roofs chasing one another.

  • Vertigo effect when the man is looking down to the ground, seems like your the character looking down.

  • Extreme long shot when the mans body is on the floor, looks like your seeing it from the roof.

  • The shot of the men chasing eachother on the roof shows the outline of each man and no specific detail apart from the background of the night and the buildings behind.


Characters

  • The villian runs from the police, seems he has done something wrong.

  • Policeman has courage as he runs across roofs to catch the criminal.

  • Also he tries to save the other man who was hanging from the roof but ends up taking his own life trying to save someone else.

  • The man hanging from the roof seemed to be helping the policeman and maybe had a good relationship with him as the policeman tried to save him.


Sound

  • Loud daunting music to start off with and also repetative giving it a hypnotic vibe to go with the spirals.

  • When the man looks down the music got louder as if to emphasize the height he could fall.
Lighting
  • Mainly throughout this opening it's very dark and uses low key lighting.
